Beyond the Bit - Equine is a horse training business currently based in and around the Guelph/Cambridge, Ontario area. I specialize in starting horses under saddle and resolving unwanted behaviours. My business name - Beyond the Bit - reflects my belief that there is so much more to training and developing a relationship with a horse than just getting on and riding. (It does not reflect any feelings towards riding with bits vs. bitless.) My mission is to make the horse world a better place for horses and equestrians alike, even if it's just in a small way. There is little science and many myths circulating in the horse industry and I hope to help change that to increase horse welfare, and decrease owner/rider injuries.
